Summer Intensive Workshop with National Speaker, Maisha Hagan
Morning Session: The Art of Influence and Negotiation (60-90 minutes)
Effective influence and negotiation skills aren’t just for lawyers and salesmen. By learning and leveraging these skills, business professionals at every level can realize winning outcomes for themselves and their companies. In this session, we’ll explore the dynamics of influence, dispel the myths and fears associated with negotiating, and present ideas to help attendees utilize their personal power with confidence.
During this session we will:
- Identify the six principles of influence
- Develop a strong “ask” and deliver it with confidence
- Learn about different negotiation frameworks
- Understand the role that time plays in negotiations
Afternoon Session: Career Leadership (60-90 minutes)
Leadership skills are often related to managing people or teams, but the same skills can be applied to one’s personal career development and trajectory. In this session, we discuss various leadership skills that people can utilize to clarify and strategically pursue their career goals. In this session, we’ll explore the dynamics of influence, dispel the myths and fears associated with self-promotion, and present formal and informal methods of self-promotion and advocacy.
During this session attendees will learn:
- Simple steps for self-advocacy
- How to build career scaffolding vs. climb the career ladder
- How to audit your experience and career landscape
- How to use existing “on-ramps” to raise your visibility

Policies
Substitution Policy
Any substitution to a Member exclusive event will be charged a $100 fee.
Walk-in Policy
To ensure we can comfortably accommodate all attendees, anyone who registers after the deadline will be charged an additional $10 walk-in fee.
Cancellation/Refund Policy
Cancellations made 48-hours/2 days prior to the event will be fully refunded. Due to our commitment with the meeting facility for food and beverage quantities, all other cancellations or no-shows will be invoiced for the full cost of the event. In the event the registrant is unable to attend, another individual from their firm can attend and the attendee will be expected to pay-at-the-door any applicable cost difference (ie: member vs non-member).
