Zoom meeting

As a marketing coordinator in the AEC world, you are responsible for so much more than qualifications packages and proposal development. You are a resource for marketing, business development, technical, and executive staff – supporting your team to drive marketing efforts through research, data management, planning, content development, and strategic pursuit assistance.SMPS St. Louis is connecting marketing coordinators with industry veterans to help you discover the latest trends and best practices to help you, your department, and your firm excel. Each hour-long forum will include a casual, interactive presentation followed by a discussion.

SESSION #1: Developing Compelling Presentations for Business Development and Proposal Interviews
Wednesday, February 16

Michelle Yates, CPSM, Director of Marketing | Lawrence Group
From developing presentations for business development meetings to interviews for shortlisted opportunity pursuits, marketers must be able to put together the right message for the audience, be it a client or partner, delivered in a way that will make their firm shine. In this interactive session, we will address tactics and best practices for putting together compelling presentations, tailoring your messaging, and incorporating marketing strategy. Join Michelle Yates, CPSM, for a discussion on best practices.

SESSION #2: Market Research to Improve Technical Writing and Develop Social Content

Susan Baerwald, Principal | Baerwald Research
Mike Plotnick, Principal | Plotlines

The marketing department regularly works with multiple disciplines and pursuit leads to develop various types of technical and market-specific content for proposals, blogs, social media, articles, award applications, and other media & channels. Learn how to use research to your advantage to craft content that is tailored to your audience. Join Susan Baerwald of Baerwald Research and Mike Plotnick of Plotlines to hone your research and content development skills while sharing ideas to help position your firm’s message for success.

SESSION #3: CRM Best Practices, Metrics, and Data Mining
Wednesday, March 2

Katie Kuntz, CPSM, Marketing Manager | Alberici

At best, a CRM system is a useful tool that helps marketers and business developers collect and access data quickly and easily. At worst, it can be a patchwork of incomplete and inaccurate data used by a select few (or no one at all). In this session, you will learn about current CRM best practices (from selection to implementation to maintenance), what metrics you should be tracking for your firm, and what data to mine that will keep your leadership informed of the health of your marketing & business development efforts. Join Katie Kuntz, CPSM, for an interactive discussion centered around building out a CRM that works for you (and not the other way around).

The Coordinator’s Club is one of three rotating educational series offered by SMPS St. Louis. Each series is intended to target members at a specific time in their career including entry-level with the Coordinator’s Club, mid-level with the Marketing Manager’s Guide, and executive with the Leadership Forum.

1 CPSM CEU is available for each session of this program, for a total of 3 CEUs.
