KPFF’s St. Louis office was launched in 2002 and has grown to a staff of 35 professionals, including 25 structural engineers, who provide innovative, cost-effective engineering services for our clients. The firm’s notable St. Louis based projects include:
SSM Health - Saint Louis University Hospital Campus Renewal. KPFF provided structural engineering services for a new world-class teaching hospital on an expanded campus. The expansion consists of three building components: a ten-story, 610,000sf hospital building with 256 in-patient beds, emergency department, imaging, dietary, and other support services, which is designed to accommodate a future seven-story vertical expansion; a four-story, 198,000sf ambulatory care center for out-patient services connected to the new hospital tower, that also provides space for dining, a conference center, and meeting rooms; and two pre-cast parking structures with a capacity of 850-cars, and that are also designed for future vertical expansion. The existing facilities were renovated and repurposed to support academic services.
Washington University in St. Louis – Various Projects. KPFF has been providing structural engineering services for multiple projects on Washington University’s campus for almost twenty years. Among the most recent projects are: Weil Hall—a new $33 million, 65,000sf, four-story academic building. Kemper Art Museum addition—a $7 million, one-story, 5,000sf addition to serve as a new entry and gallery space. Welcome Center—a three-story, $18 million, 25,000sf building for University admissions, that is partially supported by an underground garage. Hub—a $13 million, three-story, 14,000sf building with foodservice and meeting facilities, and a transportation hub, that is also partially supported by the underground parking structure. Underground Parking Garage—a $56 million, two-level, 800-car subterranean parking structure to provide parking for the new buildings on the East Campus. McKelvey Hall--new $36.5 million, four-story, 80,000sf academic building in the University's engineering complex, to house the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Brauer Hall--New $60 million, 170,000sf, three-story Engineering Laboratory Building on the Danforth Campus, providing space for labs, offices, teaching labs, classrooms, and support space. The basement contains a distance learning center and vivarium. Hillman Hall--$44 million, 105,000sf expansion of the Brown School of Social Work. The new structure, located immediately east of the existing Goldfarb and Brown Halls, features an airy roof structure over an atrium with a 100-foot clear span. LEED Platinum.
Lindbergh School District 2019 Bond Issue Projects. KPFF’s St. Louis office provided structural engineering services for a $105 million renovation/expansion of the existing Lindbergh High School Building, including a 250,000sf new facility containing a performing arts center, music department with storm shelter, science labs, and art studios; and renovation of the existing 300,000sf classroom building. The project also includes a new central utility plant.
