City Foundry STL. City Foundry STL is a mixed-use redevelopment project in midtown St. Louis, located just east of Cortex in the 3700 block of Forest Park Avenue.
The project included 48,000 SF of restaurant, food hall and movie theater space, 124,000 SF of office space, 133,000 SF of retail space with room for up to 45 retailers and a 511 space parking garage. Some of City Foundry STL’s amenities include a bike share, electric recharge stations and a ride-sharing drop-off area. A connection to the Great Rivers Greenway trails allows for easy, walkable access to Saint Louis University, Cortex, Metro stations and a pathway to Forest Park.
IKEA. The new two-story store is 380,000 SF, and located on a 22-acre site at the southwest intersection of Forest Park Avenue and Vandeventer Avenue in the City’s Cortex District. The project included 540 parking spaces in a garage below the store on the ground level and a loading dock. IKEA St. Louis was designed with the same unique architectural features IKEA is known for worldwide. The store showcases 10,000 exclusively designed items and features 50 room settings and three home interior models. The building also houses a children’s play area and a 450-seat restaurant. Designed and built with families in mind, the store also has a “Children’s IKEA” showroom area, play areas within the store, baby care rooms and preferred parking. The project consisted of the installation of a 259,000 SF solar array, which is the largest in the State of Missouri.
Ladue School District. S.M. Wilson has partnered with Ladue School District for 13 years completing more than $218M of work. The most recent project includes serving as the Construction Manager at Risk for the District’s $92M 2021 bond issue. The project will include renovations and additions to Ladue Middle School, Old Bonhomme Elementary School and Spoede Elementary School. Construction will take place while the campus is occupied by students.
Francis Howell School District. S.M. Wilson is serving as the Construction Manager at Risk for the $91M improvement projects at Francis Howell North High School Campus. The project includes a new Francis Howell North high school, elementary school additions, parking lots, practice fields and a performance stadium. The program will take place while the campus is occupied and over the course of multiple school years, with special attention paid to student health, safety and security on campus. The projects fall under the Francis Howell School District’s $244 M Prop S passed in 2020, the largest referendum to be passed by a public school district in Missouri to date.
