At Farnsworth, Ashley works on proposals to assist in selling the firm's services to clients. She has been a part of SMPS for a little over a year now and has been encouraged to get involved on a committee. She recently joined the communications committee to help create graphics for the chapter's social media.

You've been a member for a year now. What led you to join the St. Louis chapter of SMPS?
My boss, Stacy Chaney, was previously a member of SMPS St. Louis and spoke so highly of the chapters and its members! I couldn't wait to join and learn more about marketing in my industry!
What has helped keep you as a member year after year? Have you attended any programs in particular that you've enjoyed?

I love the variety of events that our chapter offers. Specifically, I enjoyed the coffee connections and Coordinators Club!

Have you ever been given a piece of advice that has stuck with you throughout your career? If so, what is it?

The advice I was given by my college mentor was to make an effort to be involved with your work. Being a part of SMPS and various committees at Farnsworth has helped me surround myself with great people!

The A/E/C marketing industry can be very overwhelming and stressful.  How do you prioritize all the responsibilities that come with our marketing roles?

Time management is definitely a skill I have had to master within this industry. I try to stay organized with deadlines. Another thing is never to be afraid to ask for help. If I'm feeling overwhelmed with my workload, I communicate that to my team! We are an extremely close group and are always willing to shift things around to make the deadlines work!

If you were a superhero, what would your superpower be? And why?

If I were a superhero, I would love the ability to turn back time! Knowing things I know now may have been good back then

When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up? And why?
As a kid, I always wanted to be a nurse because my mom is! I did go to nursing school for a while and then quickly switched to marketing (Thank God).
